Bill changed his opinion tonight because the Congresional Budget Office approved that it would be a deficit reduction and plus this bill can lead to public option this is just something that can get our healthcare system on the right track. And on a plus? to people who complain about this bill costing us CBO in 2001 told the republicans that the Bush tax cut would cost us 1.3 trillion dollars but nobody was complaining and protesting about that.

@mazack00 God bless you then… I’m still not in favor of Government controled health care… should be civilian run.

    @clayguy1
I personally believe that you are wrong. I am a courier by profession. I’ve delievered meds to VA’s on many occasions. Our local VA is exceptonal, on par with the finest hospitals and other facilities.
Why would the government offering a competative healthcare plan at a cheaper rate force you out of your own? From what I’ve seen, keeping your private one basically means you choose to keep paying the same price for the same coverage with the same doctors.

It’s not stupidity, it’s ‘chemically imbalanced’

  6. blowmeliberal says:

lol, yeah that one is a hoot.

answer the Question do you treat non Canadians free?.

  8. rdrakken says:

@larryhebert He didnt say he is opposed to health care. All he said was that he doesnt think it will save money the WAY THEY SAY it will.

Maher has a habit of making a statement that has rather broad meanings.

What he said basically can mean that he believes the bill will only save America 100 billion instead of 101 biliion a year…

  9. ricadrew says:

I’m glad Bill Maher is stupid, otherwise he would have figured out that this (these) current legislation(s) all will lead to single payer, or the public option.

The Obama nation is made up of well intentioned, if not totally stupid people. It is those that are empowered up there in Washington that everyone should look at.

  13. sicklovestudios says:

It’s great. I’ve had nothing but very good care.

Americans are a great people, and the nation that has lead the world forward for the last 100 years. I hope you guys can setup some sort of mixed public and private option healthcare.

In Canada, you have the public option, but you also have the choice to get even better care if you pay. I think this is the best model currently.

  14. sicklovestudios says:

    beets? Nice education system.

  15. sicklovestudios says:

Yeah, but I have a business, so I’m not paying as much tax as the working middle class. Keep in mind we have tax free savings accounts and all sorts of financial wizardry that the Canadian taxpayer can use to pay little in tax relative to Americans.

  16. sicklovestudios says:

I’ve never heard of anyone I’ve known to be denied treatment or coverage. In fact, the Canadian government will pay for people to travel to the US for some treatments.

The healthcare we have up here, the only downside is a 1-2 month wait for certain specialists, unless it’s an emergency.

I’d say, from my many experiences getting hurt and sick, that the Canadian healthcare system scores an A-

  17. starVol says:

ChumDiggler, I know you mean well, but once this Obama plan passes, it will wipe out the private insurance industry within years. That means that we will eventually get our health insurance from a Government single payer system. Now that is not the case of now, but over a few years, that will be the case. This thing is so costly that future generations will be taxed forever. I do not think the Government should be in charge of our private lives. They also are trying to cram this down our throats

  18. Allamericom says:

Another Obamanation move selected by the federal reserve on the American people
Wake up Americans – ending the Fed will end the BS wars and allow American’s to vote for a president instead of the Feds buy in to elect who they want all in the Good name of America.
Wake up take a closer look at the Obamanation !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  20. trickdaddyaz03 says:

lol I couldnt agree more. As much as I dont like Bill’s politics he does call it out when he see’s B.S. happening.

  21. ChumDiggler says:

Starvol, you can keep your old plan

  22. starVol says:

According to the original HR3200 bill of last summer, if a Government option is implemented, it will cut back on service. It might change your Doctor. You will most certainly pay more and get less. There will be rationing for Elderly and others. When the Government option forces people to change their plans, and that will happen, that is more control. Much of this language is still in there or will be placed back into this new plan. 35 years I worked. I have a good plan. Leave my plan alone!

  23. The1CamBo says:

bill maher is the polar opposite of sean hannity but the format of their shows is exactly the same. I wouldn’t put any merit into anything they say.

  24. Jacobrester says:

Bill Maher being fair and reasonable ?

  25. splurging247 says:

@BOULDERGEEK Very well said. Sad though isn’t it. I’m of the opinion that the vast majority of politicians in Washington care more about the upcoming elections and focus far more on trying to sabotage any progress that the other party might make simply to gain an advantage politically with no regard for the common welfare of the country, what’s right or the consequences for being shallow and greedy. I believe it’s unpatriotic and bordering on if not criminal. They should be run out on a rail.
